Explore the Hidden Treasure of Tianjin - Huangyaguan Great Wall

Standing in the northern part of Jizhou District, Tianjin, 28 kilometers away from the hustle and bustle, the Huangyaguan Great Wall quietly tells the vicissitudes of a thousand years. In the vast river of history, the ancient city of Jizhou once deployed eighteen watchtowers, and Huangyaguan, as the shining pearl on this solid defense line, holds a particularly prominent position. Its origin can be traced back to the seventh year of the Tianbao era of the Northern Qi Dynasty (556 AD). After enduring the wind and rain, it was ingeniously rebuilt and reinforced during the Ming Dynasty when the famous general Qi Jiguang served as the commander of Jizhen, making it even more majestic and magnificent under the wrapping of bricks and stones. Huangyaguan Great Wall is not only the key lock of the Ming Dynasty Jizhen Great Wall but also the unique pass city site in the area. It has been listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO and honored as one of the first batch of national 4A-level tourist attractions. It connects the grandeur of Malanguan in Zunhua City, Hebei Province to the east and the majesty of Jiangjunguan in Pinggu, Beijing to the west, stretching 42 kilometers in total, like a giant dragon winding along the ridge. Along the way, 66 towers are scattered in an orderly manner, 52 enemy towers stand proudly, and 14 beacon towers echo each other, together weaving a magnificent ancient military defense picture.
