Shangri-La Sydney

#australiatrip Incredible and memorable are two words that come to mind. We had booked a harbour bridge view room in the Horizon club category with early/late check in and out. When our room was not yet ready, the warm and friendly reception staff member (Saskia) upgraded us to a room that felt like a once in a lifetime experience. We can’t thank her enough for making it such a memorable trip. We ended up in an incredible corner suite with sweeping views from the coast, across the harbour and all the way out to the Blue Mountains. We were so in awe of our room and the spectacular view that we barely picked up our books, rather we enjoyed sitting and chatting while watching the world go by outside. Next time we return, it will be very difficult to book a room now that we have experienced the incredible luxury of a suite. I highly recommend the Horizon rooms to get access to the Horizon lounge - especially if you are booking a lower category of room without much of a view. This lounge is a calm oasis throughout the day with complimentary drinks (tea, coffee etc) while enjoying the view. At select times you can also have breakfast (decent buffet selection not much smaller than the main buffet downstairs), afternoon tea (lovely scones, biscuits, light sandwiches etc) and canapés (dips, crackers, antipasto and some warm bites, as well as including beer, wine and spirits). I have stayed here many times before and had a lovely, restful experience; however, this time was such a treat and I cannot wait to return! Thank you again to the incredible staff for our lovely stay.
