"Waste" some time and indulge in a pastoral dream.

The Banyan Tree Tengchong Resort & Spa is located on the westernmost edge of Heshun Ancient Town. It's a part of the town, yet it feels like a separate, tranquil sanctuary. At the foot of a volcano and beside wetlands, the resort's serene, pastoral setting imbues it with a peaceful charm. During my stay, I enjoyed wandering through the ancient town and then returning to the hotel. I would ask the staff to prepare a hot spring bath for me, and I would soak in my room's private hot spring pool, washing away the fatigue of walking and completely relaxing. In the tranquil atmosphere, filled only with the sounds of insects and the rustling of bamboo in the wind, I surrendered myself entirely to nature. I also loved waking up in the morning and using the remote control to open the curtains, letting the emerald green of the bamboo grove and the sunlight streaming into the room greet me with a silent "good morning." The greenery and sunshine always had a magical way of starting my day with a refreshing feeling. I especially loved the bamboo grove design outside the window of my hot spring room. The rows of tall bamboo provided both a soothing view and privacy, blending the charm of a garden landscape with the artistic conception of architectural space. Inside the room, facing this bamboo grove, as the wind blew and the bamboo swayed, it felt as if the sound of the bamboo filled the room—a gentle, rustling melody. At the Banyan Tree Tengchong, I noticed that bamboo was used in many spaces. Not only was it used as a backdrop outside the windows of the rooms, but also in areas like the atrium of the hot spring guest room floor, where a whole row of bamboo was planted. Rooted in the earth, the green bamboo exuded an air of elegance and grace. I loved walking around the floor where my room was located, truly experiencing the tranquility of the rustling wind. Sometimes, I would hope for a gentle breeze, just strong enough to create waves in the bamboo, a beautiful sound that seemed to linger endlessly. Bamboo could also be seen in the hot spring area and the front courtyard of the hotel lobby. Bamboo groves beside roads and in front of houses symbolize good fortune and peace. From the hotel's perspective, the bamboo welcoming guests from all directions naturally carries a beautiful meaning. These bamboo groves are just one aspect of the hotel's architectural artistry. Light and shadow, lines, and corridors also contribute to the Banyan Tree Tengchong's perfect ambiance, creating a serene and peaceful vacation atmosphere. This was my fourth visit to a Banyan Tree hotel, and the Banyan Tree Tengchong truly surprised me. Architecture is a silent art form, skillfully and harmoniously incorporating local landscapes and culture into the space to create the best possible atmosphere. Some of these landscapes have been completely preserved and have become part of the hotel. The Banyan Tree's hot spring area, for example, is a pristine natural forest. Without disrupting the natural environment, 23 natural hot spring pools of varying sizes have been created, scattered and hidden throughout the forest. In the beautiful and secluded depths of the forest, you can discreetly enjoy a crystal-clear and soothing soak. On the morning of my last day, I treated myself to a private experience in one of the Banyan Tree Tengchong's high-quality, natural hot springs. Here, the environment and service are perfectly matched. The rest area offers tea, soft drinks, and whole-grain snacks, all of which are free for guests to enjoy. The pastoral scenery of Heshun Ancient Town is incorporated into the hotel's Banyan Tree Tea Room. After tiring myself out exploring the ancient town, I would return to the hotel to rest and have tea in the afternoon. The Banyan Tree Tea Room overlooks the open countryside, with a vast blue sky, drifting white clouds, and a gentle breeze. It's so peaceful that you just want time to slow down, to "waste" some time and indulge in a pastoral dream. The tea master will brew you premium Banyan Tree Pu'er tea. Whether you choose to quietly enjoy it alone or chat with the tea master, it's a wonderful time to savor fine tea. I was happy to spend time at the hotel, so in addition to leisurely afternoon tea, I would swim in the hotel's indoor pool during the day. This is another space I loved, and I heard that its architectural form was inspired by the Thousand-Hand Guanyin, with its branching and spreading design. I also spent time experiencing the Banyan Tree's unique Jade Spa treatment. Natural, precious jade, when heated, produces a large amount of far-infrared rays and negative ions with wavelengths between 3.6 and 16 micrometers. When these enter the human body, they resonate with the body's own magnetic field, breaking up blockages and stagnation in the meridians and acupoints and expelling them from the body. This process clears the meridians and acupoints, regulating various systems throughout the body. For me, a spa treatment is always a bit of an "ordeal," but it's also a journey of complete relaxation. At the same time, I was also happy to spend time in the ancient town, maintaining a leisurely pace. In Heshun, you can truly relax. Each day, I would set out from the Banyan Tree, walk through the rice paddies, and then wander into the alleyways, experiencing the local life. When I got tired, I would return to the hotel, have tea at the Banyan Tree Tea Room, rest, and enjoy the pastoral scenery. A few hours before dark, I would go out for another stroll, and the day would come to an end. In the evening, I would brew myself a pot of ripe tea. The hotel provides Banyan Tree's newly launched Palace Pu'er tea in the guest rooms, which helps with sleep. Or, under the cover of night, I would slip into the naturally soothing hot spring pool and enjoy a private soak in my room. I could also take my time waking up in the morning and enjoying a healthy and nutritious breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The thin soybean flour is worth trying; it's refreshing, delicious, and perfect for cooling down. Oh, and the hotel's hot spring area has a volcanic hot spring geothermal steam room, which is a great place to detox and relax. In 2019, the hotel also launched the Water Impression project. The introduction of this water-based cultural tourism project marked a significant upgrade for Heshun's tourism industry, ushering in a new era of Tourism 3.0. Now, Heshun's two newest popular attractions (Banyan Tree Tengchong and Water Impression) are must-sees for visitors. I heard that before Water Impression began, the Banyan Tree Tengchong initiated a comprehensive ecological restoration project. Lasting over eight months, the project beautified the town's Xian River and made the Heshun River clearer. Water Impression features pavilions, islands, and markets, with multiple photo spots. Visitors can "farm, admire lotuses, and watch birds." Boating through the area, the pastoral scenery and cultural elements intertwine, creating a truly unforgettable experience. This project is included in the hotel's package experience; you can find more details on the WeChat mini-program. "Wasting" some time and indulging in a pastoral dream is truly possible at the Banyan Tree Tengchong.
