Biosphere Reserve and Intha People

#Flying with trip #Myanmar attractions #Inle Lake UNESCO has designated Inle Lake as a Biosphere Reserve, which means an area for conserving plant and animal communities to maintain a natural ecosystem in order to preserve genetic diversity. The Intha people are of Indian descent and live around Inle Lake. Their houses are built on stilts, based on the highest water level. They have separate bathrooms and kitchens, and a boat parking area, which is the only vehicle. Their main occupation is agriculture, growing field crops and flowers on floating farms using dried water hyacinths placed on woven bamboo, covered with 3-meter-thick reeds and sedges to become natural fertilizer. These farms are tied to stakes stuck in the ground, and can be moved. They can also be used as dowry. When you come here, you must try the large, fresh, and juicy tomatoes. Another adaptation is rowing a boat with your feet so that your hands can harvest the crops. Currently, they have additional occupations as resorts and tour boats.
