Uzbekistan’s Unique Metro Stations

Uzbekistan has many things to offer, ranging from Historical Architectures, to Diverse Culinaries. For those who love modern history, especially related to Soviet Union, this country has a treat for you. And one of them is the Tashkent Metro! This metro is not a regular metro like you see in other countries. Each metro station has a unique design to it, ranging from islamic geometric patterns to cosmonaut-themed station. Historically, this metro was built by Soviet Union after Tashkent severed a damaging earthquake in 1966, which led to destructions and casualties. Because of that severe damage, the Soviet Union rebuilt the cities from scratch. And therefore, it’s one of the most modern cities in Central Asia, and it resembled to cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg. For a one way ticket, it only cost around 2000 Uzbekistan Som (0.16 USD). Quite cheap right! You could take a stop and admire the beauty of each station. There are 3 lines and 29 stations to explore, but I highly recommend you to visit Alisher Navoy Station and Kosmonatvlar Station! Besides that you will admire those stations, you also could try the old soviet train that is still used up to this time. By doing this, you could feel how people in Soviet times commute back then.
