🎈1. Park Overview The Tangshan Earthquake Ruins Memorial Park is located at No. 19 Yuegezhuang Road, Lunan District, Tangshan City, Hebei Province. It is the world's first earthquake ruins park with the theme of "remembrance," built to commemorate the 1976 Tangshan earthquake. Construction of the park began in April 2008 and was partially opened in July of the same year. It covers a total area of 400,000 square meters and has a total investment of 600 million yuan. In 2011, the park was listed as a "National Red Tourism Classic Scenic Spot" and was awarded the title of "National Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Science Popularization Education Demonstration Base." The park's design concept is "Respect Nature, Care for Life, Explore Science, and Recall History." It is divided into areas such as the earthquake ruins area, memorial pool area, memorial forest area, memorial square, and memorial wall. The park preserves the ruins of the original Tangshan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works Steel Casting Workshop, showcasing the destruction caused by the earthquake.
