King Taksin the Great Shrine

This shrine of King Taksin the Great is very important to Tak Province. It is also the first shrine built in Thailand. The original shrine was at Wat Doi Khao Kaew on the opposite side of Tak city. Later in 1947, a new shrine was built, with the Fine Arts Department assigned to design it. The shrine was built as a pavilion in the form of a four-sided pavilion, along with a large statue of King Taksin the Great, slightly larger than the real one, in a sitting position with a sword resting on his lap. At the base of the statue is an inscription that reads, "King Taksin of Thonburi, born in 1734 and passed away in 1782, a total of 48 years." At the same time, in front and on the side of the shrine, there are statues of war horses, as well as an area for paying homage to King Taksin the Great. In addition to the general public being able to pay homage to the statue of King Taksin the Great, nearby is the Twelve Zodiacs Garden, which is shady and relaxing.
