Chinese Village Alley

The Ban Chin Alley community is an old community that has been around since the reign of King Rama IV of the Rattanakosin period. It was originally a prosperous Chinese community and commercial district, with rows of teakwood Thai-style houses lining the eastern bank of the Ping River. The houses in the community have unique architectural styles that combine Central Thai and Northern Thai houses. They are beautifully designed, especially the folding doors with ventilation vents, the nails-free mortise-and-tenon joints, and the high gable roofs covered with terracotta tiles. Currently, Ban Chin Alley still has over 200-year-old Thai houses that have been well preserved.
