The existing buildings of Dongyue Temple retain the style from the Ming Dynasty Longqing first year (1567) renovation, with further repairs in the fifth year of the Qing Daoguang reign (1825) and the third year of the Qing Guangxu reign (1877). The main hall is three bays wide and three bays deep, with a suspended gable roof. In front of the hall is a square worship hall with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. Inside the main hall, there are murals depicting the underworld. The architectural details outside continue the style of Ming and Qing architecture of Jinci. The bracket sets featuring dragons spitting dragons are quite interesting, with two dragons playing with a pearl. My friends and I joked that the ancients were also into "orthopedics" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
