Although the road is not easy to drive, Duofu Temple is worth the trip.

Duofu Temple was originally called Juewei Jiao Temple, and is naturally located on Juewei Mountain. The road to Juewei Mountain is actually not too bad, but the road to Duofu Temple is narrow, steep, and bumpy. The day I went, it was very congested, and many people parked their cars on the side of the road to take photos on the cliff, which made it a bit difficult. New drivers should be careful. As a Ming Dynasty national temple in Shanxi, Duofu Temple must have something to offer. It is not only the hermitage of Mr. Fu Shan, but also the Ming Dynasty murals in the Mahavira Hall that make people want to see it. The 90-square-meter mural is arranged in an east-west axis with 84 complete Buddhist stories. Through these Ming Dynasty murals, we can see the real life of society more than 500 years ago, during the Tianshun period of the Ming Dynasty. From heavenly bodhisattvas, emperors, and ministers to ordinary people and monks, everything is depicted in the paintings. Is this a kind of holographic projection? Standing in the hall, it seems as if time has flowed back, and the daily life of the Ming people is vividly visible. There are 22 paintings on each of the east and west walls. The east wall is mainly green, while the west wall is mainly red. Some people say that the two walls were not painted by the same group of painters, and the technique of the west wall is higher than that of the east wall, with more changes in the picture. For us, they are all treasures that have survived the years. In addition to the murals, there are more than 20 painted sculptures in the temple. Similarly, the main statues of the Three Buddhas are relatively standard, but a few of the bodhisattvas are really beautiful. It is said that they are traditional Shanxi girls, with graceful and elegant postures, and very distinctive. Especially a reverse Guanyin statue, which is not the common gentle face, but has a more mature and relaxed sense of power. It seems that he is compassionate because of understanding, not because of pity from above. Perhaps it is a reflection of the craftsman's life experience, which I like very much. It is said that Mr. Fu Shan traveled to many famous mountains in his life, but finally returned to Juewei Mountain: "Outside the white clouds of the western mountains, is my Juewei Ridge." There are beautiful scenery everywhere, but there is only one hometown.
