Gaomei Wetlands, formerly known as Gaomei Seaside Resort, has transformed from a once-popular beach destination to a rich ecological wetland. With the operation of Taichung Port, the beach saw an accumulation of silt, leading to a decline in visitors. Eventually, the beach had to be closed.
