Jan Kasprowicz Park in Szczecin

Park Kasprowicza - the largest city park in Szczecin, located entirely within the administrative boundaries of the Łękno estate at the junction of the borders with the Niebuszewo-Bolinko estate and the northern part of Śródmieście. Together with a fragment of the Arkoński Forest Park, it forms the nature and landscape complex "Zespół Parków Kasprowicz-Arkoński" with a total area of 96.8 ha. In the north, it is adjacent to the Dendrological Garden. Stefan Kownas. The park is limited by the following streets: J. Słowackiego, B. Zaleski, S. Wyspiańskiego and P. Skargi, and has an area of approximately 27 ha. It was founded in 1900 and was given the name Quistorp Park in honor of Johannes Heinrich Quistorp, who donated the adjacent areas to the city: the Jasna Błonia square (then called the German Quistorp Aue) and the Arkoński Forest (until 1945 the German Eckerberger Wald). The park is located on the slopes of the so-called Niemierzyńska Valley on the Rusałka Lake and is the extreme part of the Wkra Forest. There are numerous species of trees in the park, which are rare in Poland, such as pines: yellow and mountain pines, Serbian and Brewera spruce, yew, swamp cypress, plane tree, balsamic ambergris, manna ash and species of birch, willow, beech, ash and oak. Among the less common ones, there are also: Caucasian wingnut, American knotweed, Jeffrey's pine, Veitch fir, Chinese poplar, Japonica and shrubs: barberries, cotoneasters, meadowsweet, wig tree, Persian parocia, witch hazel, Japanese witch hazel, loggerhead, round-leaved maple. #poland #polandtravel #szczecin #park
