Maple leaves on Tianping Mountain are colorful, so they are also called "colorful maples." The maple trees were moved from Fujian by Fan Yunlin, the 17th grandson of Fan Zhongyan. There are still 176 trees, which have a history of more than 400 years. Together with Fragrant Hills in Beijing, Qixia Mountain in Nanjing, and Yuelu Mountain in Changsha, it is known as one of the four best places to view maple leaves in China. It is famous for its "red maples, strange stones, and clear springs."
