🔒Lock in this niche treasure parent-child hotel 🚗Self-driving Departing from Songjiang, Shanghai, it takes 1 hour to reach the hotel🏨. The location is perfect, 1 hour to leave the city and reach Taihu Lake Resort, which is simply wonderful! Our requirements were a short drive + a parent-child hotel + many entertainment facilities + beautiful scenery, and we really perfectly met all of them this time. 🏨Hotel Environment The hotel is built by the lake, right on the lakeside. We initially considered going to Dongshan or Xishan, but it takes nearly 2 hours to drive from Shanghai to the island, which was not acceptable time-wise. We wanted to keep the drive to just over an hour, and Novotel is right by Taihu Lake and not far from Dongshan and Xishan, so we immediately decided to go there. 🏠We booked a king room, and the front desk upgraded us to a 50m2 suite when we checked in. The stay experience was great, including breakfast, which was also very rich😋. The hotel has shuttle buses, making it convenient to come and go. There aren't many dining options nearby, but you can order takeout🥡. Overall, it's very good. 🎡Leisure and Entertainment Large indoor playground, suitable for toddlers and young children. My baby played there all afternoon and didn't want to leave when it was time to go. He thought it was too much fun😂. 🧗‍♀️Large outdoor playground + adventure area for older children. The whole area is very large with many activities, perfect for adventures😎. ♨️Open-air hot springs with several pools. Not many people, so no need to worry about awkwardness. You can change clothes in your room and then go over in your bathrobe. 🏊Pool + children's outdoor water play area. It would be more fun and interesting to go when the temperature is higher😛. 🏞️Recommended Surrounding Activities On the second day, we drove around Dongshan, taking in the scenery of Taihu Lake. The scenery is really beautiful, and driving along the lake is very pleasant! We also found a large lawn perfect for camping. Many families were camping there. We set up a canopy and tent, and my child loved playing in the tent, running on the grass, and flying a big kite in the wind. It felt so free and happy, with nothing to worry about, and the feeling of an empty mind was so refreshing! 🖋️Finally, an all-in-one parent-child resort hotel perfectly meets my needs. Staying at the hotel can solve all the needs of taking the child out, without the hassle of finding and running to attractions (emphasizing a Zen-like parent-child trip👨‍👩‍👦). You won't worry about the child having nothing to play with, and taking the child out will no longer be exhausting. Instead, it allows you to relax and enjoy yourself. Escaping from Shanghai for a day or two really enhances the relationship between couples and parents and children. Many of the dissatisfactions in life can be reset after a trip, making you want to love your family and life more. I think this is the true meaning of an ideal parent-child trip!
