Mati Temple Scenic Area - Stone carvings, Tibetan culture, and Qilian Mountain scenery.

The Mati Temple Scenic Area is located to the north of Zhangye, about an hour's drive away. It combines stone carvings, Tibetan culture, and Qilian Mountain scenery, and is worth a visit. Mati Temple is named after the legend of a heavenly horse that left a hoof print here when it came to drink. The first thing you see is the Thirty-Three Heavens Grottoes. There are several Tibetan Buddhist temples. The legendary hoof print is preserved in the Puguang Temple's Horse Hoof Hall. There are seven floors in total, and some of the passages are very narrow and steep, making them difficult to climb. Jinta Temple has two special grottoes. The colored sculptures from the Northern Liang period 1,600 years ago are well preserved, beautifully shaped, and of particular historical significance. After entering the mountain, the car travels along a bumpy mountain road. After climbing more than 200 steps, you can see the Qilian Mountains up close. The Thousand Buddha Caves look good in photos, with temples suspended in mid-air. After passing through the temple gate, people can be liberated. The mountain grassland scenery along the way is beautiful. When you stop and stay, it feels like you're in the Swiss Alps. There are sheep everywhere, and a yak that suddenly rushed towards us even scared the driver.
