"Sokcho's Winter, the Perfect Combination of Healing and Gourmet Food"

The day I spent in Sokcho, a seaside city in Gangwon-do, was truly special. Thanks to the beautiful tourist attractions and mouth-watering food, I enjoyed a short but fulfilling trip. Now, I will tell you about my trip to Sokcho! Tourist attractions: A leisurely day in Sokcho 1. #Naksansa Temple: Healing time with the East Sea The first stop on my trip to Sokcho was Naksansa Temple. The quiet temple atmosphere and the endless East Sea were truly impressive. In particular, the grandeur I felt in front of the statue of Avalokitesvara was one of the unforgettable moments. Even in the cold winter wind, looking at the sea overlooked by the statue of Avalokitesvara was heartwarming. 2. #Yeongrangho Resort: Peace found on the lake We arrived at Yeongrangho Resort by car from Naksansa Temple. It was very windy because it was winter, but it was truly beautiful in itself. I enjoyed a leisurely walk around the calm lake. I had an Americano at the Starbucks cafe at the top of the resort and looked out at the lake, and I thought this was a true healing spot. 3. #SokchoI Ferris Wheel: Ferris Wheel Embracing the Sea SokchoI Ferris Wheel on Sokcho Beach was the highlight of this trip! The view of Sokcho as you slowly ascend after boarding was truly overwhelming. The view of Seoraksan Mountain on one side and the East Sea on the other made me exclaim, "Wow~". Especially when you go up at sunset, you can see the orange sky and the sea in harmony. 4. #SokchoCafe Seoraksan-ro: A cup of coffee facing nature The last cafe I visited, Seoraksan-ro, had a view that seemed to face Seoraksan Mountain, just like its name suggests. It was nice that there were spaces made of independent buildings, so I could enjoy it privately. The drinks were a bit pricey, but the atmosphere was so pretty. Food: In search of the real taste of Sokcho 1. Nurungji squid sundae: A special taste of Sokcho The nurungji squid sundae I tasted for the first time was really unique. The squid is filled with rice, noodles, and crispy crusty rice, and the rich flavor and savory taste spread throughout my mouth the moment I took a bite. Especially when served with hot soup, I felt like my stomach was completely relieved! 2. A plate of raw flounder: Freshness from the East Sea The raw flounder I ate at a raw fish restaurant near the Sokcho beach was truly a work of art. When I dipped the thick, chewy raw fish in wasabi soy sauce, I could feel the scent of the sea. As I ate the raw fish, I was divided into those who liked the soy sauce and those who liked the soy sauce, and I voted for the soy sauce! 3. Perilla leaf buckwheat noodles: The ultimate in richness We finished off with perilla leaf buckwheat noodles! The rich perilla leaf soup and the moist buckwheat noodles were really soft. The unique flavor of perilla leaves and the chewy texture of buckwheat that I could feel with every bite made me want to keep eating it. Since it was winter, I ate it in a warm soup, but I thought this combination was unfair.
