Seoraksan National Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Golden Mountain in South Korea 🇰🇷
#fallingforfall 🍂 Trust me when I say less than 10% Malaysian has discovered this place in South Korea. Let’s do something out of the typical itinerary.
This is Seoraksan Mountain, one of the three highest peaks in South Korea. It is located in Sokcho-si. It is suitable for all ages as you can take a cable car ride around 10 minutes to the top of the mountain.
It’s only around 3 hours driving from Seoul and you will find yourself in this golden heaven especially for someone who travel in the autumn. Those pictures I took myself during this year mid-autumn.
Make sure to put this in your itinerary next time you are planning to go to South Korea.
Muhammad Amer Ridzuan Bin Zuber Seoraksan National Park
Seoraksan is a mountain in South Korea that is known for its scenic beauty and diverse plant and animal life. It is a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities, and is home to many temples and cultural sites. The mountain is also designated as a National Park, which helps to protect its natural resources and biodiversity. The view was so spectacular that I really enjoyed my hike there.

Advanced hiking trail, Ulsanbawi( Seoraksan)
#gohiking
Ulsanbawi trail is the most challenging in Seoraksan mountain.
It is 7.2 km long in total. Normal finishing time is 4-6 hours. If you are not used to hiking, it may be challenging for you.
When you reach the top, a magnificent view will be waiting for you. You will feel yourself above the clouds.
Note: I recommend that you prepare your food and drink in advance as the journey will take a long time.

Sokcho Beach Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Sokcho | The Sokcho Beach is so healing!
After touring Abai Village, I walked directly to Sokcho Beach via the Seorak Bridge trail, and this path surprised me so much!!
From the bridge, I could see the village and the sea on one side, and on the other side were the snow-capped Seorak Mountain and the green Cheongcho Lake. The fusion of these views was just too beautiful.
🚶Walking to the breakwater by the beach, the entire seascape was also very open, and I kept going wow wow wow all the way – it wasn't tiring at all. Just walking, looking around, taking pictures, and before I knew it, I had arrived at Sokcho Beach.
Sokcho Beach
The beach had a few more people than other places, but it was still not crowded this season, mostly locals or people from other parts of Korea. They were playing in the water, sunbathing, enjoying the breeze, walking, fishing, etc., and it looked like an enviable daily life.
🎡The Ferris wheel is also right by the beach, which makes for a nice photo backdrop.
Besides seagulls, there were also a lot of pigeons foraging on the beach, and they were basically not afraid of people, all looking cute and adorable.
🚶Walking along the beach to the other side, you reach the Beach (actually, it's the same beach, just that there are more rocks on the Oeongchi side). The entrance to the Sea Aroma Road is also at the end of this beach.
I often see people saying that Gangneung is more beautiful than Sokcho, that Sokcho is boring and not worth visiting, etc. To be objective, each city on the East Coast has its own charm, and I think both Gangneung and Sokcho are beautiful and worth visiting! As long as you encounter a sunny day, any seascape you snap is a masterpiece!
I want to visit Sokcho again next time. The autumn trekking up Seorak Mountain is also incredibly scenic~

Beautiful scenery. In the summertime it's really busy. Fireworks (but security limits them), night market food stalls, carnival games, and lots of photo ops. Daytime it's packed with families and night time you're not allowed in the water but it's bustling with people out for an evening stroll. Worth visiting in the summertime for day time and night time experiences.
They gave public washrooms (really clean), and air or water pumps to clean your shoes or feet once you're out of the sand. Safe, kid friendly, and lots to do/see here.
Sunrise With Love in South Korea 🇰🇷
#couplestrip #awesomepic Sokcho Beach is one on the prettiest sunrise spots. I don't have to describe much and let the photos speak for themselves. It's only 3 hours drive from Seoul and I can guarantee you will never regret this in your entire life. You can also enjoy fresh seafoods around the beach. I have fulfilled my life bucket list, and now this is your time!
These picture are 100% no filter. I read somewhere that South Korea has multiple spots for first sunrise that people crowd during new year so I booked a flight ticket this year autumn just to see if they are true.

Scenic cable car ride!
#fallingforfall
To go up to the top of Seoraksan Mountain, it's best to take their cable car which is just a 5 minute ride. Each cable car ride interval is 10 minutes long with a maximum of 50 people (no seats available; standing only) for each ride. It's quite a packed cable car with people jostling for the best view space when entering the cable car.
Even so, it's an enjoyable experience as you get to see the beautiful mountain and autumn leaves while going up/down the ride. Once up, you can go up 1 floor to the observatory for the scenic views or continue to climb up the mountain to the top. While it's now autumn, it had yet to reach the peak season. It should be even more beautiful in the upcoming 1-2 weeks around end October.

It is the centerpiece of the 40 km2-wide Seoraksan National Park and the dividing point between Naeseorak and Oeseorak areas: areas to the west of Daecheongbong Peak toward Inje are considered Naeseorak, while the areas to the east, toward Sokcho and Goseong, are considered as latter. It is also the origin of most of Seoraksan Mountain’s famous valleys
