The Wada House in the Gassho-style Village of Shirakawa-go This building is a designated Important Cultural Property of Japan. It is said to be the largest house in the Gassho-style village. It is called the Wada House because the Wada family lives there... The house is divided into an area open to the public and a living space. The Wada family still live there, and part of it is open to the public. There are areas in the building that are off-limits. There are signs posted, so please do not open them by mistake! We toured the house, grateful that the living space is open to the public. The house introduces the history of the Gassho-style village, the history of the Wada family, and their collection. There is a hearth and tools that were used in the past. It was very interesting. The view from the Wada House was also beautiful 🙌 Looking at the Gassho-style houses visible from the second floor, it felt like I was entering a world of photographs.
