[Nagano Prefecture] Achi Village, the paradise of peach blossoms in Japan

Achi Village is a small village nestled deep in the mountains of Minami Shinshu, Nagano Prefecture. Achi Village is famous as the "village with the most beautiful starry sky in Japan" certified by the Ministry of the Environment, but it is also the "number one paradise in Japan" with about 10,000 peach blossoms in spring. The best time to see them is usually from mid-April to early May. *Due to global warming, the time varies each year. Achi Village is a small village, but the best time to see them actually varies slightly depending on the location. It is a relatively low-altitude village, so the best time to see them is during the day. Kami Onsenkyo is the first place in Achi Village to bloom, from early to mid-April. Tsukigami Onsenkyo, commonly known as the "flowering peach village," blooms from mid-April to early May. The "flowering peach road" along National Route 256 blooms from late April onwards. In particular, Hirugami Onsenkyo is a beautiful flower village in full bloom, with cherry blossoms and peaches blooming at the same time. However, generally speaking, the flowering peach village, which looks good in photos, is more popular. It seems to be a famous name (when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom at Hanamomo no Sato, the cherry blossoms are almost over). There are about 5,000 red, white and pink flowering peaches in Tsukigami Onsenkyo, about 200 in Hirugami Onsenkyo, and about 5,000 on Hanamomo Kaido, so there are about 10,000 flowering peaches planted in Achi Village as a whole. In April, when the flowers are in full bloom, there are a variety of small-scale outdoor stalls and the Hanamomo Festival is held, where you can enjoy Achi Village's specialties and local gourmet food. It is said that about 200,000 people visit every year. Admission itself is free. Parking during the festival is 1,000 yen for normal cars. *However, the municipal parking lot on the side of the ropeway station, about 1 km up the hill from the village, is free. Part of the festival is lit up. Parking is free at night. Access: About 1.5 hours by car from Nagoya to Hirugami Onsen, about 3.5 hours from Tokyo.
