A mountain where you can enjoy the waterfalls and the natural beauty of the mountains.

📍Mt. Akaboshi Located in Shikokuchuo City, this mountain has an elevation of 1,017m. It belongs to the Houou Mountains, a branch of the Ishizuchi Mountains in the northeast. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the summit from the nearest trailhead, so it's a great place to visit! The Median Tectonic Line runs east-west along the northern foot of the mountain, and the end of the ridge cut by the fault, the so-called triangular end face, is beautifully formed. The Oji River, which flows north along the fault cliff, is called the Ouji Valley or Akaboshi Line, and many large and small waterfalls can be seen. On the south side, the Dozan River flows east parallel to the mountain range, and the beauty of the valley with its strangely shaped rocks is one of the best in the prefecture.
