Every year, the "Shingu Hydrangea Festival" is held from mid- to late June. The grounds are very large, and there is a gentle uphill slope to the observation deck. The promenade is made of concrete and is easy to walk on, but be careful as it can be slippery after rain. There are also spots here and there where hydrangeas are blooming in abundance.
