Shenzhen's Top Sunset Viewing Spot for a Zero-Cost Romance

This city has a thousand faces. My favorite moment in Shenzhen is dusk. This mountain is an excellent place for sightseeing and photography, fulfilling all the fantasies of sunset collectors. With a wide-open view and close proximity to the airport, you can catch low-flying planes. Sunset over the sea, planes flying through the sunset, and the Bay Area nightscape— at this moment, I just want to fully enjoy this zero-cost romance. - 🕙 Time: Open all day 🎫 Admission: Free, no reservation required 📍 Address: Tiezai Mountain Park Road, Bao'an District, Shenzhen 🚇 Transportation: 1️⃣ Take Metro Line 1 to Gushu Station, Exit A, navigate to "Tiezai Mountain Park Gushu Entrance" (West Gate), then walk 1.2 km to the trailhead; 2️⃣ Self-driving can park at the West Gate parking lot - 🚶🏻 About the trip: ✅ Turn right after entering the park, take the trail beside the restroom up the mountain; it takes 20-30 minutes to reach the summit. Taking the switchback road doubles the time but is easier. ✅ Besides the summit "Yunge Bikuang" viewpoint, there is also a viewing platform halfway up the mountain where you can overlook the West Bay sea view. ✅ Restrooms are available at the foot and summit of the mountain, none along the way; vending machines for water are only at the summit, so bring water if needed. - 📷 About photography: ✔️ The summit "Yunge Bikuang" is the best spot for photos, where you can capture rare views like the sea sunset and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel. It’s busier on weekends, so secure your spot early. ✔️ Be sure to choose a clear day with high visibility and arrive at the summit at least half an hour before sunset to wait for planes flying over the sea. There is usually one chance daily to capture a plane flying through the sunset. ✔️ The actual photo spot is far from the sea surface; to capture the sun large in the frame, a telephoto lens is needed (photos were taken with 200-300mm lenses) combined with cropping. Phones with 10x optical zoom also work. ✔️ It’s recommended to stay from sunset until nightfall to capture the dazzling night view of the West Bay coastline. -
