The recent weather in Shenzhen has been wonderful, perfect for an exhilarating outdoor mountain hike. This time, I chose the less crowded and beautiful Daguzhang. Perhaps only when you reach the summit can you truly understand the meaning of climbing a mountain. The distant city and mountain ranges blend together, while the nearby forests and lakes are picturesque. This magnificent scene makes me feel that after traveling through mountains and rivers, life is truly worth it. - 🕙 Time: Open all day 🎫 Tickets: Free, no reservation required 📍 Address: Daguzhang, Yantian District, Shenzhen 🚇 Transportation: 1️⃣ Take Metro Line 14 to Nanyue Station Exit A, then navigate to "Bridge No. 10" and take a taxi to the trailhead, about 10 minutes; 2️⃣ Alternatively, exit from Nanyue Exit C and take bus M546, get off after two stops at "Concrete Company Station," then walk 1 km to Bridge No. 10; 3️⃣ Self-driving is not recommended as there is no parking near the trailhead, and roadside parking risks being ticketed. - 🚶🏻 About the hike: ✅ The trailhead is quite hidden, located at the fence at the bridgehead of Bridge No. 10. The ascent is almost entirely on wild paths, with red ribbons (and some other colors) tied to tree branches serving as trail markers. It takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the summit. For detailed route guidance, please refer to the last picture. ✅ At the summit, you will see a pavilion. Don’t rush to think this is the end; continue walking 300 meters further to find a second pavilion with a very different view. ✅ There are no streetlights along the way or at the summit. If you don’t plan to hike through the night, be sure to manage your time well and return the same way. The descent takes about 40 minutes to 1 hour. ✅ There are no water refill points on the trail (though some may sell water at the summit on weekends), so bring enough water and take precautions against mosquitoes and insects. - 📷 About photography: ✔️ Next to the second pavilion, you can see the Sanzhoutian Reservoir, known as the "Little Thousand Islands Lake." Using the descending steps as a foreground, you can capture a sense of depth from far to near. ✔️ Walking down through the grass beside the steps leads to a flat large rock with a very open view, capturing both the Sanzhoutian Reservoir and the distant East Overseas Chinese Town. ✔️ Climb to the second floor of the first pavilion to photograph the nearby low forest and the distant Sanzhoutian Reservoir in one frame. If someone is crossing the forest at that moment, it adds a very storytelling vibe. ✔️ Next to the first pavilion is a prominent large rock clearing, an excellent spot for sunset photography. On the far horizon, you can faintly capture the Shenzhen skyline. - 🌟 Tips: If you have the time and energy, you can continue the hike from the summit of Daguzhang to the Yuanshan Egongji trail crossing.
