The Road to Integration: Listen to the Legend of the Tuoba Clan

The special exhibition "The Road to Integration: The Migration and Development of the Tuoba Xianbei" features 180 pieces/sets of cultural relics from the Datong Museum, Inner Mongolia Museum, Luoyang Museum, and Hulunbuir Museum. The exhibition focuses on the ethnic development history of the Tuoba Xianbei, depicting the civilization and cultural characteristics of the Tuoba Xianbei at different stages, and presenting the social evolution and development of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The Tuoba Xianbei is a branch of the Xianbei, also known as the Biebu Xianbei. The Northern Wei Dynasty established by the Tuoba Xianbei lasted for nearly a century. During the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of Northern Wei (471–490), under the impact of the resistance struggles of various ethnic groups, in order to ease various social contradictions and consolidate the rule of the Northern Wei Dynasty in the Central Plains, Emperor Xiaowen and his grandmother Empress Dowager Feng carried out major reforms on the basis of the gradual sinicization of the Dai Wei, promoting the further feudal centralization of the Northern Wei Dynasty, and the Xianbei people became increasingly sinicized. The exhibition is currently on display at the Nanshan Museum. History lovers should not miss it.
