I checked in to the Laca Hotel near the Luohu Port in Shenzhen over the weekend, and the location is incredibly convenient! It's just a 3-minute walk from Exit E of Guomao Subway Station, super close to the Hong Kong border crossing. Just downstairs are King Glory Plaza and MixC, offering a one-stop shop for dining, drinking, and shopping. First, let's talk about the room: I booked a Deluxe King Room, and at just over CNY 400 a night, it offered great value. The room wasn't huge, but it was very clean, with comfortable bedding and a mattress that was just the right firmness. I especially loved the bathroom, with its separate shower and bathtub, great water pressure, and individually packaged toiletries. Regarding service: The receptionist was incredibly friendly and offered to help me with my luggage. Upon check-in, I also received a welcome fruit platter and snacks, which was a thoughtful touch. When I got hungry in the evening and ordered takeout, a robot delivered it right to my door – very high-tech! Nearby dining: Downstairs, there are popular milk tea shops and tea restaurants, and a 5-minute walk to the basement level of King Glory Plaza reveals a plethora of dining options. I highly recommend the nearby Bah Heli Beef Hot Pot – the meat is incredibly fresh! Transportation tips: If you're coming from Futian or Shenzhen North Station, I recommend taking the subway. It's a 10-minute walk from Luohu Station. If you're driving, the hotel has a parking lot, but spaces are limited, so it's best to inquire in advance. Overall, this hotel is perfect for those visiting Shenzhen or transferring through Hong Kong. I'll definitely choose this place again next time! I recommend booking in advance, as it's often fully booked on weekends.
