Exploring the Ten Thousand Mountains with Kids! Forest Hiking + Family Camping

For transportation, self-driving is recommended. It takes 2.5 hours from Nanning, and the scenery along the way is stunning. The kids sit in their car seats watching the green trees outside the window and share with me the little birds they see, so the trip is never boring. The scenic area has a large parking lot with convenient parking and charging stations, so families with electric cars don’t have to worry. The must-do activity is forest hiking! We chose an easy family-friendly hiking route, 3 kilometers in total, with a flat path suitable for strollers. There are signposts along the way, and you can see streams, wildflowers, and little squirrels. The kids observe everything as they walk and even collect fallen leaves to make specimens, full of curiosity. At the end of the trail, there is a small waterfall with clear water where the kids can splash and play, super happy! Family camping is a must-try! We chose the campsite inside the scenic area, which has ready-made tents and sleeping bags, so no need to set up ourselves, very hassle-free. In the evening, we set up a small table and spread a tablecloth with the kids to prepare dinner, watching the sunset paint the sky red, so romantic. At night, sitting outside the tent, we watched the stars with the kids and even saw fireflies. The kids were so excited they screamed—this kind of experience is impossible in the city! For dining, we recommend the barbecue set at the campsite, which includes chicken wings, corn, and sausages—all favorites of the kids. Cooking it ourselves was super fun and great for family interaction. In the morning, breakfast was delivered to the tent, including porridge, eggs, and steamed buns, nutritious and warming. After eating, we took a walk around the campsite with the kids, breathing fresh air, so comfortable. There’s also a family craft class! Every afternoon at the campsite, there are forest craft activities using twigs and leaves to make small ornaments. The kids used their imagination to make a “forest little house” and even won a small prize, feeling very proud. Tips: ① Wear long sleeves and pants for hiking to avoid scratches from branches; ② Bring mosquito repellent as there are many insects in the forest; ③ Bring a small night light for camping to help kids go to the bathroom at night; ④ Don’t forget your camera—every shot is beautiful scenery, and the kids’ smiling faces are worth capturing. Bringing kids to the Ten Thousand Mountains, away from the city’s noise, feeling the beauty of nature together, makes the parent-child relationship closer. We want to come again next time!
