Shangri-La - A Beautiful Tibetan Old Town

Shangri-La Ancient Town, also known as Dukezong Ancient Town, is the centrepiece of Shangri-La city. The original ancient town burnt down in a catastrophic fire some years ago. Despite this, the "modern" ancient town has a truly authentic feeling with its beautiful Tibetan architecture. Make sure to try the delicious local Tibetan food. Notable restaurants include Shambala Tibetan Restaurant and Three Brother's Restaurant. Make sure to try the local barely infused yak dishes and breads.
