The Best Way to Visit Wangxian Valley

Wangxian Valley has gained huge popularity all over the Internet and more and more people want to visit and experience this Chinese fairytale-like town. But most sources don't quite explain how to visit, how to plan your stay and most importantly, what to expect. After learning from my previous trip, I've gathered useful information and great tips that I want to share for a more laid-back, curated experience. So let's begin! INTRODUCTION: Wangxian Valley (望仙谷) "Vagoo Scenic Area" is a beautiful themed scenic area with waterfalls, cliffs, bridges and traditional style hanging houses. The venue is set within 50-60 km from Shangrao city center. 1-2 days visit is enough. 🏨 ACCOMODATION: I've found that the best way to visit this place is to stay at a hotel within the scenic area, which allows for a unique and totally immersive experience. Although the options are considerably more expensive, you get to enjoy more exclusive viewing spots from your room and hotel facilities, as well as the peace and quiet of the early hours in the morning (before the arrival of tourist buses) and the last hours of the day after the park closes. Some hotels include the entrance to the park, so no need to buy a ticket entrance. In addition to that, they may also include vouchers for breakfast and a free photo shoot session in traditional clothing! Of course, you can also choose to stay outside in the nearby town where prices are way more affordable, and some hosts can arrange to take you and pick you up from the scenic area. 🚙 TRANSPORT: It can be reached by private car, taxi or bus (about 1.5 hours). 🚍 The bus departs from East Bus Station, connected to Shangrao Railway Station. The ticket costs ¥30 per person. It arrives at the main entrance of the attraction. Next to the ticket office is the Scenic Area Homestay Reservation Reception. One registers to be picked up in a van and taken to the lodging entrance, which is located higher up in the mountain. You have to have the reservation on hand. 📍 ADDRESS 🚖 If you drive or request a Didi ride, type the following address which is directly to the lodging reception: 广信区望仙谷景区民宿中心前台 Front Desk of Wangxian Valley Scenic Area Homestay Center in Guangxin District. 🎫 ENTRANCE TICKET Entrance to the scenic area costs ¥140 per person and is single entry; that is, if the accommodation is outside the scenic area it is necessary to buy a new ticket to re-enter. 🕒 OPENING HOURS: 9:30-22:30 🍜WHAT TO EAT: Don't worry about taking any food with you. There are plenty of options inside (Chinese food), from food stalls with snacks and drinks to restaurants, bars and tea/coffee shops.
