🗓️ Today's recommen

🗓️ Today's recommendation is Liquid Laundry: A famous 📸 American-style restaurant in Shanghai The interior has a sort of modern industrial design with a steampunk style. The day’s sunshine 🌤️ was the perfect complement to a delicious brunch. Here are some must-try dishes: 🍳 Eggs Benedict with Smoked Beef Brisket -- This is a Liquid Laundry signature dish and a staple of American brunch. The brisket was tender and moist with just the right amount of flavor. This dish is only available on the weekend. 🥞 Lox Potato Pancake -- At first you might wonder if they forgot the pancake, which comes hidden under a sizable portion of delicious lox topped with pickle garnish, an egg, and dollop of caviar. The potato pancake struck the right balance between crunchy outside and tender inside. This dish is also only available on the weekend. 🥗 Fancy Nicoise Salad -- The salad is a mix of greens and other vegetables and served with seared tuna in a lemon tarragon-Dijon dressing. Personally the searing on the tuna was a bit overdone. The taste is refreshing, but watch out if you don’t like a lot of dressing. 🍓 Strawberry Waffle -- Another Liquid Laundry signature dish, this was a sweet sweet ending to a good meal. The waffle was crisp and tender, and the strawberries were fresh. It’s a good choice for dessert. 🍸 Service -- The menu design is rather iconic with an old-timey washboard on the back. The wait staff were spread a bit thin though, and it was sometimes hard to get their attention for refills on drinks or to order more food. 💳Price -- About 150 RMB per person. 📍 Address -- 2/F, KWah Centre, 1028 Huaihai Zhong Lu, near Donghu Lu, Xuhui District (淮海中路1028号嘉华坊2楼, 近东湖路) 🚇 Transportation -- Metro Line 7 to Changshu Road Station, exit 6. Or Line 12 to Shanxi South Road Station, exit 7. #shanghaistyle #shanghaichic #foodieheaven #deliciousfood #lightthecity #urbanexplorer #shanghaiweekend

Liquid Laundry

Looking for a trendy place for brunch in #shanghai? Liquid Laundry on Middle Huaihai Road might be just the place. It is only about a 5 minimum walk from the Shaanxi South Road subway station. The interior is decorated with a sort of steampunk motif. Dishes are tasty, if a bit on the pricy side. The eggs Benedict was quite nice. There is also a large selection of in-house brewed beers. I would recommend this place for when you have friends in from out of town or for when you need a upscale location for a date or meeting. It’s one of those places you should at least visit once. 📍 KWah Center 2F, 1028 Middle Huaihai Road (淮海中路1028号) #lightthecity#urbanexplorer

Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai

🍩 Where the donuts grow? * Shangri-la Pudong hotel's 怡咖啡海鲜自助餐厅 buffet is a good choice if you r travelling with a big company and all of u don't share same taste when talking about food. They have cuisine from all over the world, including Indiand, Turkush and Japanese food, a huge variety of seafood, which is quite fresh, and also a nice variety for those, who own sweet teeth only. * The section with deserts look so amazing, that it is hard the take ones eyes from it. 🍰❤️☕ * During big holidays the place also has DIY food just in the middle of the restaurant, so you can try to do your own Moon cakes during the Moon cake festival, or craft your own dumplings during Chinese New Year. 🍙🥮🥟🍡 . The restaurant is not big (according to Chinese standards), not quite cheap (around 350 per person), but always crowded cuz the food quality worth it. ALSO there is a huge kids room with slides, bubbles and all possible things for kids to play. The location is nice, it is two steps away from the North Bund and The Pearl tower. So after lunch/dinner you can enjoy a walk in a nice area. #shanghai #buffet #seafoodfeast #desert #deliciousfood #foodieheaven #hotelexperience #urbanexplorer#lightthecity#tripfoodie

A yummy bite of China 😋 🥢 The restaurant of Sheng Meng Hotel at #303 Jipu Rd. is well known among the locals for it is interior and delicious Zhejiang style food. The outside of the restaurant is quite average, but when you step inside, there is a whole new world, the door is like a portal to old Chinese street with tiled roofs, terraces, ancient bridges and boats, slowly floating in the ponds full of lotus leaves. 🥢 But it is worth coming not only for the interior, but for delicious Zhejiang province style food as well. But it might be a little challenging to order since there is no English on the menu. But there are pictures, so still not that hard. They also serve stinky fish. Thus I honestly won't recommend it to foreign fellas, but this dish is so hard to cook that it really shows the high class of the whole restaurant. ❤️ My personal top in this restaurant is: sweet taro, pig's feet, pastry cake with fruit, fried frog and tofu soup. It is fine to come with kids, cause you can relax and enjoy your food while they are bisy with exploring the reastaurant. The stuff is quite friendly and as it is common in Chinese culture, people love kids and nobody complains then running around or being a bit noisy. #shanghai #localfood #triplocal #foodieheaven #foodietrip #discoverchina #biteofchina #deliciousfood #zhejiang #zhejiangfood #chinesefood #tripfoodie#lightthecity#urbanexplorer

Pasha Turkish Restaurant

Pasha Turkish Restaurant is located at #125 Nanchang Rd, not far from Aipm mall and subway lines 1, 13 and 10. It is a very nice place with great Turkish cuisusne and great variety of food. Meat is just amazing, we got a platter of 7 various kinds and all of theme were just 💯, humus is stunning and wine is not bad. The service is purely Turkish as well. In China we are a bit used to the fast pace, but here waiters take their time to serve dishes, not without mixing orders as well. A bit slow but very polite. The environment is quite nice, with the interior and atmosphere in general, actually it is very easy to forget you r in China now. The restaurant is also kids-friendly, there is a little play room for kids with some basic toys and a TV on the first floor. #deliciousfood #tripfoodie #tripfoodieshanghai #shanghai #turkish #foodieheaven #foodietrip #deliciousfood#lightthecity#urbanexplorer

The first branch of its kind to open in Shanghai, Tsutaya Books 📚 can be found in Columbia Circle in a villa that used to be the residence of Sun Yat Sen’s son. The store has been open for a just couple of months but has already taken Chinese social media by storm. A number of unique books can be found in Tsutaya - many of which we haven’t really found at other bookstores. Among them, there’s a particularly large selection of books related to art, as well as architecture and design. There’s also a small section of books in English. The store’s interior is characterized by narrow hallways and old fashioned woodwork, offering a contrast to many of Shanghai's newly opened, ultramodern stores. It’s worth a visit even if to just check out the architecture. Sculptures and other pieces of art can be found scattered among the shelves and shelves of books. A café can be found on the first floor just as you walk in. On the second floor, you’ll find a restaurant with Japanese-American style fusion cuisine. Try out dishes like gyoza hot wings , beer steamed mussels, and cheese ebi chili. Cocktails with literature-inspired names are also on the menu, like Between Calmness and Passion and Theory of Relativity. A meal with drinks will average out at around CNY300 per person. In all of its splendor, this bookstore is quite popular among locals looking for the next insta-worthy shot. For this reason, you’ll have to make a reservation in advance on the store’s WeChat mini program if you want to visit. 📍 Location: Columbia Circle, 1262 West Yan’an Road ⏰ Hours: 10:00–23:00 #shanghaistyle #shanghaichic #bookstore #bookshop  #lightthecity#urbanexplorer#hipsterbookstore

Located not far from Fudan University is used bookstore that looks nondescript from the outside, but is full of hidden gems. In business for over 20 years, Fudan Secondhand Books has two floors and countless stacks of used books 📚📚📚. The fun of the experience is rummaging through the shelves or the piles of books on the floor (and steps leading up to the second floor) in search of a book that piques your interest. You’ll find books covering topics ranging from engineering and history to poetry and comics. Due to its location next to some of Shanghai’s most well-known universities, you’re sure to run into a few students and professors during your visit. While many of the books are in Chinese, some foreign language books can also be found. Prices are often cheaper than Taobao. Because of planned renovations on Zhengsu Road (the street the store is located on), the book store has been asked to close or relocate within the next two months. If you’re interested, be sure to make the trip over before it’s too late. Fudan Second Hand Books 📍 Location: 2nd Floor, 55 Zhengsu Road, Yangpu District 🚇 Metro: Around 10 mins by foot from exit 4 of Guoquan Road station on line 10 #shanghaistyle #shanghaichic #bookstore #bookshop #cool #lightthecity#urbanexplorer
