A Fairy Tale Cottage, Shanghai Botanical Garden Autumn Rabbit Party

There is a bonsai exhibition at Shanghai Botanical Garden in September and October. It is recommended to enter through Gate 4. Take Metro Line 3 to Shilong Road Station, which is about a 15-minute walk to the garden, or take a Didi ride. The botanical garden is free to enter, but several exhibition halls charge an entrance fee. The Orchid House and Bonsai Garden each charge 7 yuan; they are small and not highly recommended, visit based on your interest. There is also a combined ticket for 4 exhibition halls at 30 yuan (Greenhouse 1 and Greenhouse 2, Subalpine Plant Hall, Mountain Plant Hall). Greenhouse 1 is relatively large and features tropical plants with a tropical rainforest vibe, but personally, I find it average. Avoid entering through Gate 3, as it feels like an old-style park with many elderly people exercising and doing activities. Of course, the entire park is connected, so walking a bit more is fine. It is recommended to enter through Gate 4, where there is currently a bonsai exhibition near the entrance. The rabbit pumpkins are also nearby, making it a great spot for photos. There is also a lotus pond with beautiful water lilies (water lilies will be covered in a separate note). I particularly like the Mediterranean Garden area (see reference photos 1 to 12). In short, it’s free and definitely worth a visit.
