Museum of Art Pudong MAP (Museum of Art Pudong)

I visited on May 20th during the William Turner exhibition. There were many students, probably on a field trip. 🗺 Where is it? Amid the city skyline, a calm and solid volume stands out. That is the Pudong Museum of Art (Museum of Art Pudong, abbreviated as MAP)! 🏗 Who designed it? The work of world-renowned architect Jean Nouvel! The exterior looks like one large white stone sculpture, but once inside, a space created by light, transparency, and overlapping perspectives unfolds. Architecturally, it is significant because 👉 it expresses the relationship between the city, the river, and art through architecture. The view framed by the large glass frame, capturing the Huangpu River and Shanghai Tower, becomes a ‘living exhibition’ in itself. 🖼️ What exhibitions are held? MAP mainly showcases contemporary art exhibitions, and actively collaborates with famous overseas museums. Exhibition tickets: Students get a discount, so it’s recommended to buy tickets on-site. Note: As with any public institution in China, there is a security check at the entrance, so once you leave the building after viewing the exhibition, you cannot re-enter through the exit to visit the museum shop.
