10 Days of Comfort and Surprises at JI Hotel Shanghai!

I stayed solo for 10 days at JI Hotel (Shanghai Changshou Road North Shaanxi Road Hotel) while attending a course and was a bit worried at first about staying in the same room so long — but it turned out wonderful! The hotel is very clean, spacious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. One of the coolest things was the robot service that delivers food, parcels, or even paper directly to your room. They also have a self-service laundry room where I could easily wash and dry my clothes, so I didn’t have to pack too much. For extra convenience, they even offer laundry service if you prefer not to do it yourself. The hotel itself is quite large, with long corridors, but everything is systematic and organized. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Shanghai! #jihotel #shanghai #solotravel #hotelreview #tripmoments #smarthotel #laundryconvenience #traveltips

Shanghai Film Park

🎬 Step Into the Silver Screen at Shanghai Film Park! 🌟 If you’ve ever dreamed of wandering movie sets and reliving cinematic moments, Shanghai Film Park is your ultimate backstage pass. With expansive streets, vintage buildings, and classic movie props, this destination lets you immerse yourself in old Shanghai’s charm and cinematic history! 🧭 Your Adventure Route: Hop on a train, switch to a local bus, then enjoy a 500m stroll straight to the entrance. Skip online bookings—grab your ticket at the counter on arrival (¥69). The park is massive, so come well-prepared for plenty of walking. 🔥 Must-Dos: - Stroll through vintage Shanghai alleys and snap photos with retro trams and stylish old shopfronts. - Explore iconic sets like the Nanjing Road and the European-style town square—these spots are perfect to channel your inner movie star! - Don’t miss out on peek-a-boo moments at prop-filled courtyards and historic buildings. 📸 Insta-Worthy Angles: - The clocktower backdrop at “Old Shanghai Street” - European-style façades with golden hour lighting - Dramatic action shots by classic movie props 💡 Visiting Tips: - Wear comfortable shoes—expect a LOT of walking! - Only buy tickets at the counter for better flexibility. - Avoid venturing into the park’s “green zone”—it’s just a patch of grass and a small lake with swarms of mosquitoes (trust me, not worth it). - Visit early for cooler temperatures and photo ops without the crowds. ⚠️ Key Precautions: - Bring mosquito repellent for any outdoor areas. - Plan your restroom breaks; some facilities are quite spread out. #Shanghai #FilmPark #CinematicShanghai #TravelTips #UrbanAdventure

Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

Step into Storybook Waterways at Zhujiajiao Ancient Town 🚤🌧️✨ Just a short train ride from Shanghai, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town welcomes you with winding canals, stone bridges, and picturesque alleyways. It’s the perfect escape for those craving old-world vibes mixed with riverside scenery. Begin your day early to beat the crowds—grab a train out and transfer to the local boat for a classic entrance (but check the weather, as boats stop running when it rains!). Stroll through Kezhiyuan Road; the town is sprinkled with cafes and unique shops, though the restaurants are more about location than flavor, so aim for snacks rather than a sit-down meal. Must-dos include crossing the iconic Fangsheng Bridge, exploring the preserved old houses, and peeking into quirky alleyways. You’ll find the best insta-worthy shots along the canals, especially with a transparent umbrella on a drizzly day—the reflections are magical and the clear umbrella lets you capture the ambience (plus, a great hack for rainy photo ops!). Don’t forget to wander into hidden courtyards for unexpected photo gems. Visiting tips: Wear comfy shoes for slippery stone paths, especially after rain. Bring snacks to avoid the so-so restaurants. If rain’s in the forecast, check boat times and prep for on-foot exploring. Key precautions: Canal edges can be slick; keep an eye out if you’re busy snapping pics! #Shanghai #Zhujiajiao #AncientTown #Waterways #TravelTips

Head up to its 360° observation deck and soak in panoramic views stretching from the modern high-rises to the winding Huangpu River, making it a must-stop for urban explorers and photography fans. 🚶♂️ Recommended Route: Start your day with a stroll through Baoshan, then make your way to Shanghai Changtan Observation Tower (上海市宝山区富锦东路上海长滩冠东苑东侧约170米). Arrive right at opening (10:00 AM) for the quietest experience, and avoid weekends if you’re looking to dodge crowds. 🔍 Must-Dos: - Take your time at the 360-degree glass viewing deck for unobstructed cityscape views. - Spot landmarks like the distant Shanghai Tower and Pudong skyline on clear days. - Try the interactive exhibits that detail Shanghai’s expansion—great for a rainy day! 📸 Insta-worthy Angles: - Snap panorama shots at the east-facing windows just after noon for the best lighting and minimal glare. - Get creative with reflections from the glass; early morning offers dreamy, misty shots over the river. 📒 Practical Tips: - Bring a polarizing filter for your camera or phone—makes those skyline shots pop! - Dress in layers—the glass deck can be windy and cooler than ground level. - Allow 1–2 hours, especially if you're waiting for the perfect photo op. ⚠️ Precautions: - The last entry is usually around 5:30 PM, so plan ahead. - Check weather forecasts—fog can obscure views and photo ops. #Shanghai #CityViews #ObservationDeck #TravelTips #UrbanExplorer
