If you want to choose a representative and easy-to-approach Shanghai-style restaurant, I would still recommend "Renheguan," which is said to be the closest to the taste of old Shanghai cuisine. Reservations are strongly recommended. The benefit of prepaying a 150 RMB reservation deposit might be that two people get seated at a six-person table! It feels like being specially treated! 🤣 (The reservation deposit will be directly refunded through the booking platform at the time of consumption.) After visiting, I truly felt it deserves its Michelin one-star rating—service, taste, and attention to detail are all excellent! The average cost per person is about a thousand New Taiwan Dollars, which is very worthwhile! Crab roe rice and pan-fried buns are must-orders! The dedicated service is very thoughtful!
