Shanghai Renhe Museum

Shanghai Renhe Pavilion, hidden between the bustling Jing'an and Zhaojiabang Road, is like an old Shanghai cabin in time. The dark green exterior walls and red lanterns whisper the past splendor in the night, and a pair of sculptured guards are facing you, as if guarding the entire memory lane.  The light in the pavilion is dim, and the antique phonograph sings golden songs softly, and the space seems to be gently wrinkled by time. The crab roe rice and fermented edamame on the menu are not just dishes, but old rhymes in the veins of thick oil and red sauce. Every bite is like reading a memory of the city's tongue in the last century.  I only love the "small portion ritual sense" of Renhe Pavilion - one person can enjoy the traditional flavors of braised pork, eel shreds, edamame, etc., just like a miniature performance that condenses a whole set of old Shanghai-style life aesthetics into a booth. This is not a tourist check-in place, but a place for people to quietly "return to the daily life of Shanghai".
