Shanghai Qin Gu Art Museum

Shanghai Qin Gu Art Museum, located at No. 2888 Cao'an Highway in Jiading District within the Jiangshangqiao Cultural Park, is a non-profit cultural and artistic institution integrating calligraphy and painting exhibitions, traditional Chinese culture and art training, and cultural leisure. Upon entering the museum, the first thing that catches the eye is the distinctive porcelain art area, where uniquely shaped porcelain works serve as landscape features of the park, highlighting a special artistic atmosphere. The main building is designed in the classical Hui-style courtyard architecture, serene and profound. The building materials are carefully selected: the display walls are made of century-old bricks, the display cabinets are crafted from old wood, and the flooring is paved with old blue bricks. Walking inside, one seems to be able to touch the traces of time. The museum specializes in ceramics, collecting, preserving, and exhibiting contemporary Chinese ceramics, calligraphy, and traditional Chinese paintings. Since the establishment of the new museum in 2019, it has held nearly a hundred exhibitions of various scales, including national renowned ceramic artists' invitation exhibitions and woodblock print exhibitions. In addition, it regularly hosts lectures, workshops, and intangible cultural heritage projects. It serves as the Shanghai Education Commission’s extracurricular and off-campus teacher training base, Jiading District’s patriotism education base, and a social practice base for primary and secondary schools, playing an important role in cultural inheritance and dissemination.
