Shanghai Museums | Aurora Museum As a private museum that rivals national museums, whether it's the exquisite exhibits, the beautiful architecture, or the comfort of the viewing environment, I personally think it can be ranked as the top private museum in Shanghai. First of all, the museum building itself is a work of art, designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, with wide stairs and a glass wall facing the Huangpu River. It's said to be the best spot for photographing the sunset over the river. The museum is located on the second to sixth floors, with the entrance on the second floor. The second floor displays Han and Tang dynasty figurines. The exhibition is thoughtfully arranged with lighting that doesn't overshadow the perfectly displayed and interesting exhibits. The third floor displays jade artifacts, systematically showcasing the development, classification, and production of jade items. The fourth floor displays ceramics, mainly blue and white porcelain. The fifth floor houses a café with a row of windows specifically designed to view the beautiful scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River. There are some books outside the café that can be browsed for free. You can rest here without purchasing anything, enjoying the view and reading. The sixth floor displays Buddhist statues in a spacious exhibition hall, without replicas found in other museums. ⛺【Must-Visit Local Spots】: 1⃣ Buddhist Statues: From early Gandhara Buddhist art to localized statues from the Northern Wei, Sui, and Tang dynasties, each piece is amazing. 🙏 I personally love the Northern Wei style. 2⃣ Jade Exhibition: Spanning from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing dynasties, covering the entire ancient Chinese history. 3⃣ Blue and White Porcelain: Fine pieces from imperial and folk kilns of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. I didn't have time to see this exhibition that day, but I'll definitely check it out next time! 🏺 4⃣ Figurine Exhibition: Many people come specifically for this! Mainly from the Han and Tang dynasties, the classic female attendant figurines look like they're sticking out their tongues playfully when examined closely, super cute! 😜 🛬【Travel Tips】: 🍰 Special recommendation: The café on the 5th floor has a full glass wall with an excellent view.
