| The China Suite at the Fairmont Peace Hotel, Shanghai! Haha, I rarely see online reports about this room type. - My mom and aunt have a special fondness for the Peace Hotel. Since the hotel is most famous for its Nine Nations Suites, we decided to stay in the China Suite. Check-in was on the 9th floor, next to the Cin Cin Bar. The service was excellent. The staff patiently explained the hotel's amenities and experiences and even took notes for me. About the room: I was a little apprehensive about staying in such an old hotel, haha. But entering the room was a pleasant surprise. The facilities were well-maintained, and many items in the suite were spotlessly clean. I especially loved the glass cups on the dining table. I loved the jacuzzi tub; it has a massage function, haha. About the view: Only the Nine Nations Suites ending in "20" directly face the Bund. The China Suite has a side view. If I remember correctly, only the Japanese and British suites have direct Bund views. The welcome gift chocolates were so exquisite and beautiful! I think it's the most elegant welcome gift I've ever seen, haha. It's complimentary. You can go downstairs to the museum around 2 PM for a relatively simple explanation and a tour of the entire building. The ornate elevators aren't currently in operation, and the terrace is closed during the winter. Old-time jazz: I sincerely recommend coming after 9 PM. I almost fell asleep during the earlier performances. The best part is later. There's a minimum charge of CNY 300 per person, I think. The drinks aren't great, but you can order some food. Chinese restaurant: You need to book a table with a view in advance, which isn't very friendly to photographers like me. You can also ask the staff at Cin Cin for assistance.
