Shanghai Zhongshan Park.

Zhongshan Park in every city is a must-visit item for me. Although I have been to Shanghai countless times, I have never visited Zhongshan Park. Take the subway to Zhongshan Park Station and walk into the park. There is a Cohesion Engineering Museum in the dense forest. Let’s go there first. This is a museum built in a park to commemorate the launch of the "Cohesion Project". In the 1990s, the "Cohesion Project" with the theme of "understanding people, caring about people, and uniting people" started from Huayang Road Street in Changning District, and then spread to the entire city and the country, developing into a brand name card for Shanghai's urban party building. The museum opened in October 2013 and vividly tells the innovative development process of the "Cohesion Project". Zhongshan Park is very large, with several large lakes in the middle, named Chenjiachi, Lianxiangchi and Yuanyanghu, etc. Surrounded by green trees, it is a rare green space in the city center. There is a large lawn on the east side, which is a good place for camping. There is a large bronze bell beside the lawn. It was built in New York, USA in 1865 and transported to Shanghai in 1881. It was originally placed on the lookout tower of the International Settlement Fire Department. It is the earliest fire bell in Shanghai. It was moved to the park in 1922 and lost its whereabouts in 1958. The current one is a replica based on historical records. There is also a stone pavilion next to the lawn. It was built in 1935. It is a Western-style building made of white marble. There is also a pair of white marble sculptures of women in the pavilion. The pavilion is covered with green plants, and under the reflection of the setting sun, it forms a scene of its own, which is called Stone Pavilion Sunset. Passing through the path in the dense forest, we arrived at the open-air music stage in the northeast of the park. The stage had a semicircular roof, where a group of local elderly people were dancing. Next to it is the park’s Gate No. 2, across the road is the gate of East China University of Political Science and Law, and there is a tram parked on the side of the road. At first I didn't understand why the tram was parked there, but later I found out that there was a jet booth next to it, which was used to inspect the carbon brushes of the tram's collector poles. Turning from the hexagonal pavilion next to it to the lotus pond area, there are still large tracts of woods and small garden scenes here. We also came across a Luoyang Peony Garden, but of course the flowering season has long passed. Finally, return to the subway station. After walking around the park for a long time, I didn't find any relics related to Mr. Sun Yat-sen. I looked up the history of the park and found out that it was built in 1914 by the British Zhao Feng when he was in Shanghai. In June 1944, it was renamed Zhongshan Park. It was once the ornamental botanical garden with the most varieties in Shanghai. No wonder there is such lush vegetation in the park.
