🏨 The highways were jammed during the National Day holiday, so we decided to have a staycation in Shanghai. We stayed at the InterContinental Shanghai NECC the day before, but the kids complained that there was nothing to do. So, I got up early and started looking for a hotel that hadn't raised its prices for the holiday. I found one that hadn't raised its prices, had a children's play area and pool, a lounge where we could eat, and was only a half-hour drive away. It met all our needs, so I booked it without hesitation. We checked out of the InterContinental at 4pm and checked into the Crowne Plaza at 4:30pm. Check-in went smoothly and we were welcomed with fruit and drinks. We missed afternoon tea, but we didn't mind because we were mainly interested in the family-friendly facilities. The pool had a children's slide, there was a small outdoor slide, and the restaurant had a small indoor slide and a claw machine. The kids tried everything. We didn't want to spend more money on dinner, so we ate in the lounge. The food was okay, and they had crab and beer. We drank six bottles of beer, so it was good value for money.
