Shanghai’s Slaughterhouse, 1933 Old Millfun 🇨🇳

The history of this building is very interesting. It was once used as a slaughterhouse for cattle, designed by Balfours, a famous British designer. The architecture blends Eastern and Western characteristics, with winding corridors, staggered ups and downs, ‘umbrella column’ and rotating ramp. Now it has been transformed into kind of mall ~ many restaurants, cafes, shops, and more education and entertainment. It’s actually a really unique place to take photos, I’ve never seen another place like this. 📍611 Liyang Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai. 🚇 Take the metro on line 4 or 10 to Hailun Road Station. Leave via exit 3 and walk about 650 metres. #china #chinatrip #shanghai #shanghaitrip #mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip
