Jiading Museum Guide

On Museum Memorial Day, I visited the Jiading Museum, which has recently been listed in the new batch of national-level museums. Although Jiading District does not have a high profile in the history of Shanghai, lacking the colonial history and Haipai culture of the city center, nor the historical status of the Ming and Qing dynasties like Songjiang Prefecture, Jiading County has a long history with many historical and cultural architectural relics. Jiading County originated during the Jiading era of the Southern Song Dynasty, and historical excellent buildings such as Fahua Temple and the Jiading Confucian Temple on Jiading Old Street. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Jiading was also a region that produced cotton and rice, contributing to the glory of the bureaucratic merchants and the textile industry of the old Shanghai urban area.
