InterContinental Shanghai Jing'an | First time unlocking the InterContinental brand, the experience was okay.|||It was my first time staying at an IHG hotel and I unlocked the InterContinental Shanghai Jing'an. I redeemed it for 499 RMB per night with the CITIC credit card's 365 benefits, for a two-night stay in a king bed room without breakfast. The hotel also helped to upgrade to a city view king room, although I'm not sure what kind of view facing the overpass counts as. Since the price was affordable, I felt the experience was okay. Let's talk about the pros: the concierge service was good, they were enthusiastic and helpful; the room was large and the facilities were well-maintained; both the fitness center and the swimming pool were large. But actually, as a business hotel, there really aren't any other standout features. If there's any chance I would stay again, it would only be because of the price factor, a high cost-performance ratio. Considering the market price of 1000+ RMB, InterContinental Shanghai Jing'an doesn't seem to have much of an advantage.
