Xu Xiake visited Sheshan five times, four of which were to meet the famous literary figure and calligrapher Chen Jiru, who lived in seclusion on East Sheshan. Sheshan was also visited by Emperor Qianlong during his trips to the south of the Yangtze River, and it boasts a Catholic pilgrimage site, the earliest observatory, and a thousand-year-old pagoda... Shanghai Sheshan National Forest Park is divided into East and West parts. The long staircase pathway of East Sheshan is very beautiful, with tall trees and lush foliage on both sides. It's already so green, and the path connects to the ancient Qianlong Trail. At the entrance, there is a thousand-year-old banyan tree and blooming camellias. Walking from the foot to the top of the mountain, you are surrounded by greenery and fresh air. Standing at a high point and feeling the mountain breeze, one can't help but love the beautiful spring. 📖Tips: It is recommended to visit East Sheshan first and then West Sheshan, as the exit of East Sheshan is right next to the entrance of West Sheshan.
