A comprehensive creative park with a focus on cultural creativity

The old site of the 1876 Station Creative Park was the Jiangwan Station, the starting point of the Songhu Railway over a hundred years ago, which was China's first commercially operated railway. Its inauguration in July 1876 marked a milestone for the Chinese national industry, making an indelible contribution to the economic development of Shanghai at that time. Today, under Shanghai's new development strategy for cultural and creative industries, the cultural relics along the Songhu Railway have been well preserved and have become a landscape of urban culture. The park's South Square connects to Wenshui East Road's commercial street, bustling with popularity. Currently, it houses brands such as Starbucks, McDonald's, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tokyo Countryside, offering convenient dining and gourmet experiences. Upon arriving here, it feels like stepping into an old Shanghai train station. The platform clock tower, the gravel tracks, and the long-dormant old-fashioned train seem to allow visitors to momentarily forget the hustle and bustle of the surrounding metropolis, as if everything is a scene from a sepia-toned photograph. Many of the shops here are converted from shipping containers, many of which are made to look like train dining cars, forming this retro creative park together with the real train. A retro creative park that uses an old train to tell passers-by of its past glory, it is also currently the only historical and cultural theme creative park in China based on an old train station. Above the train is the Shanghai Metro Line 3 Dabaishu Station, which is entirely elevated, hence locals refer to Metro Line 3 as the light rail. When the light rail speeds over the old train, it's like a traversal of eras.
