Shanghai Family Staycation｜A Kid-Friendly Hotel in Chongming We've Stayed at 3 Times

During the holiday, we took our kids to Shanghai's backyard garden—Chongming Island for fun. Our family stayed at the Hyatt for two days, enjoying various parent-child activities daily. Although this is our third stay here, each visit feels fresh with excellent service, great food, and comfortable accommodations. Definitely worth revisiting! 📍Hyatt Regency Chongming, Shanghai It usually takes about 1.5 hours to drive from downtown Shanghai, but due to holiday traffic, it took us 3 hours. Parking at the hotel is convenient. 🏠 Stay The 47-sqm Hyatt Garden View King Room gives a traditional Chinese garden vibe. Though the decor is slightly dated, it remains elegant, and the room is very clean. This is also a pet-friendly hotel with vast lawns for pets to run freely—you'll spot many adorable furry friends here. 🏕 Play During the holiday week, there were diverse parent-child activities every day. Artisans in the lobby demonstrated sugar painting, Chinese knot-making, and blown sugar figurines, while clowns handed out treats... Kids also got to make their own burgers and floral fans—so much fun without even leaving the hotel! The indoor pool has separate areas for kids and adults, with clean water. The Transformers-themed playground features a giant slide that kids love. The bonfire party was a blast—singing, dancing, and even sparklers made it super lively. 🥙 Eat The breakfast buffet offers freshly made Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles—worth the wait! For dinner, we tried Pin Yue Chinese Restaurant, serving authentic Shanghainese cuisine—don't miss it! The Dongpo pork, made with free-range Chongming black pork, was melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly paired with rice. The boneless white-cut chicken was also incredibly tender. 🚞 Nearby Attractions The hotel is a short drive from Yingdong Ecological Village, the viral dam spot, and Dongping National Forest Park. Chongming Island's slow-paced, natural environment is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Absolutely love it! ~
