Journey of 520 | Experience a picturesque urban vacation

The Hilton Hotel at Shanghai Hongqiao Xiangyuan is a beloved establishment for us. Its proximity to Hongqiao Airport and convenient transportation make it an ideal choice. My husband and I often choose to celebrate our anniversaries here. Recently, we learned that their lobby restaurant and executive lounge have been upgraded, transitioning from a business hotel style to a more urban leisure vibe. Hence, we decided to revisit this hotel on the special day of May 20th (520). 🏨 On such a special day, staying in an executive room adds a sense of ceremony. The executive lounge, located on the third floor, is where check-in for the executive rooms takes place. The newly renovated lounge offers a cozy leisure environment. In addition to beverages, afternoon snacks and small meals are also provided. Booths are available for guests who require a private space for discussions or chats. 🏷️ Upon entering the executive room, we fell in love with the large windows and transparent space design. The room features wooden flooring and furniture, complemented by Art Deco-style metal decorations. The atmosphere is both comfortable and luxurious. Our favorite part is the room layout, with a dressing room on one side opposite the bed and a bathroom on the other. The bathtub faces a large floor-to-ceiling window, providing an incredibly relaxing experience. 🫖 In the afternoon, we visited the garden of the "Hujiang 88" restaurant, where a set of garden Longjing afternoon tea was waiting for us. This afternoon tea set offers a unique blend of Japanese visual and taste sensations. The combination of avocado sushi and mentaiko is particularly special. The pairing of desserts and tea is sweet but not cloying. 🌃 In the evening, we dined at the Haiyue restaurant inside the "Hujiang 88" restaurant, tasting delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Pan-seared tuna paired with Niçoise salad, served with a specially made sweet and sour tomato sauce and olive oil, was refreshing. The large slow-cooked octopus leg paired with potatoes was rich in texture. The Spanish paprika braised beef cheek and porcini mushrooms were tender and chewy. Finally, we had a satisfying Italian black truffle ham mushroom pizza and seafood pasta. It was an utterly satisfying meal! 🍷 When we returned to the executive lounge for a break, it was already evening. During happy hour, we could enjoy unlimited wine. As we sipped our red wine and reminisced about the past, we felt tipsy, satisfied, happy, and nostalgic.
