A Pre-China trip checklist!

1.Apps Important things need to be repeated thrice! China is such a forward country that everything in their lives revolves around the apps. Get these to survive: Alipay(3% transaction fee above RMB200) -A map -Trip.com 2.Passport/visa.2 Singapore passport holders can go into China without visa for 15 days. For non-Singaporeans who live here, you need to apply for visa. Application process is pretty straightforward, and need about 1 week. 3.Bank card and Money Although Alipay is highly preferable, sometimes it just doesn't work properly, but fret not, we can still use card or cash to pay. Also, since higher-value purchases have admin charges, recommend to ask the merchants if they accept cards before using Alipay to save some money, which could accumulate. Remember to activate overseas usage on your cards, and exchange some money if needed. As a reference, we exchanged $300 for 11 days but only used up $200(you can also bring some SGD to exchange there, should be pretty convenient in the cities) 4.Local Sim card or Hong Kong Sim card Many apps (2 mentioned above as examples) only work with local numbers. Recommend to get local number when you land, to use those. 5. clothes Do prepare and bring more clothes than necessary, especially in cooler/colder months, as the weather can change anytime (more fickle than women!)l checked the weather 3-4 times before my trip and still ended up bringing wrong clothes! Best is to prepare for layering, as daily weather can also keep changing. #trip
