Fusion of Chinese, Japanese, and Western Cuisine~ Super Satisfying

It's been quite a while since I last had a Japanese buffet. This time, my friends invited me to celebrate my birthday, and to satisfy my indecisiveness, we booked a Japanese restaurant. After work, we headed to Sha Tin for the 8:30 PM slot. Generally, the restaurant has a high occupancy rate on weekday evenings, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. Apart from Japanese cuisine, I was surprised to find many Chinese dishes on the menu, such as fried pigeon, Vietnamese butter prawns, drunken abalone, traditional Chinese soup, and dim sum (shrimp dumplings and siu mai) 😋. Foie gras toast is also one of my favorites 😋. The sea urchin and crab roe cup (served in a mini ice cream cone) is not only delicious but also adorable and Instagram-worthy 🤣. Hot food (self-service area)~ Includes Chinese soups & desserts, fried chicken bites, crayfish, dim sum, fried squid, and takoyaki 👍. Snacks and fruits (a total of 20 varieties)~ Perfect for a light appetizer. Kids' area~ Unlimited candy. Beverage area~ A wide variety of drinks, including homemade beverages and regular sodas. They also thoughtfully provide both hot and cold drinks 👍. My favorite is the unlimited cold/hot sake 😝. I rarely drink, but this was a great opportunity to enjoy a little sake paired with Japanese BBQ—absolutely perfect. Desserts also offer a wide selection, with over 20 options including tofu pudding, yogurt, mochi, various cakes, puddings, mango sago, jelly, and ice cream (highly recommend the durian ice cream), whole mango popsicles, and fruit-flavored popsicles. Durian lovers will be thrilled~ Unlimited grilled durian paired with durian ice cream. In summary, the variety of food and drinks is overwhelming, making it hard for someone like me, who struggles with choices, to decide. I wanted to try everything, but unfortunately, my stomach capacity was limited 😅. What are your favorite foods or drinks? Daikiya Address: Shops 33-35, 44-46, 1/F, Sha Tin Plaza, 21-27 Sha Tin Centre Street, Sha Tin Transportation: Exit A3 of Sha Tin MTR Station, walk through New Town Plaza to Sha Tin Plaza.
