Sequoia, stunning drives through giant trees

If you have ever wanted to feel really small and insignificant as a human being then you should definitely take a trip to Sequoia national park in California, home of the infamous giant Sequoia trees. I have never seen trees of such a scale before in my life, we took a trip to the giant forest and honestly couldn’t really process what we could see. These trees are absolutely huge and tower almost out of eyeshot, it’s hard to even get a full photo of some of these trees. Like all national parks there is an entrance fee of around $40 but you can get an annual pass for $80 that allows access to all parks - we had this and more than made our money out of it by visiting Yosemite, Bryce, Zion and Sequoia in the same trip! The initial climb in the car is stunning but be warned there are lots of sharp turns and not all drivers are paying attention to the road, so make sure you’re fully focused on the drive. We had some close encounters! If the snow is very heavy some of the smaller roads are closed off but following the main road enables to you to see most of the parks main features. If you go during winter make sure you have chains for your cars tyres, they will warn you on entry if it is a day that you need chains - they will let you into the park but there are park rangers at road blocks to turn you around when you get too far! It can ruin your trip as the road block is just before the giant forest, where 5 of the worlds top 10 biggest trees can be found. They will personally check your car has chains correctly fitted or has sufficient four wheel drive / off road ability to clear the path ahead - there were some pretty angry guests on our visit who were turned away for trying to get past without chains! Most service stations within 50 miles of the entrances sell chains, but be warned they get more and more expensive the closer you get to the park! So don’t get them last minute, get them before you leave or further out along the way. Overall an absolutely stunning experience that I will never forget, although very eye opening seeing large swathes of destruction from recent forest fires. I guess it really makes you understand how important nature is to us, and just how vulnerable it is right now. #sequoia #nationalpark #historicallandmarks #winter #california #roadtrip #nature

#holidayvacation Went to the Sequoia National Park to see the world’s biggest three. It was almost 4 hour drive away from LA county Torrance and we left home around 4am. It was pretty long trip but I never regret! There are multiple trails so I would recommend to try several trails if you arrive early morning. And this park has different amazing view in summer and winter, so please please visit here at least twice a year. #holidayvacation#wintergetaway#tripinspired#happynewyear
