#Laos attractions That Ing Hang is a pagoda in Savannakhet Province, Laos. It was built by King Suminthalat in 600 B.E. during the Khotabun Kingdom. Another source states that it was built around 400 B.E. It is rumored that That Ing Hang is a twin pagoda of That Phanom. That Ing Hang or That Ing Hang comes from the word "Ping Rang" or leaning against the Rang tree. The base is square and 25 meters high. At the Rang tree where the Lord Buddha stopped to receive alms in Sri Khotabun, later the relics of the Lord Buddha, the spine, were invited to be enshrined in the chedi. Built during the reign of Phra Nakhon or Angkor Wat, That Ing Hang was transformed into a Hindu temple. There were constructions and additions in many parts to create Hindu art, including some bas-relief sculptures. That Ing Hang was renovated in 1892 B.E. by King Fa Ngum. Then, during the reign of King Saisetthathirat, He moved the capital of Lan Xang from Luang Prabang to establish Vientiane. He ordered the restoration and modification of Phra That Ing Hang to return it to being a sacred place for Buddhists as before, including building a new spire of the pagoda in Lao style.
